The 2019 Pinot Noir Clone 828 presents abundant aromas of Bing cherry, raspberry and strawberry cream with underlying hints of eucalyptus and dried rose petal. Vineyard Notes
The 35-acre Brick Barn estate vineyard lies just north of the Santa Ynez River in a largely unexplored winegrowing corridor near the city of Buellton in the western Santa Ynez Valley. The 2017 Pinot Noir Clone 828 comes from Block 10, which is planted along an upper highland at an elevation of 550 feet. Here, persistent sun exposure ensures fully defined fruit flavors, while the Pacific Ocean—just 10 miles away—delivers daily cooling that maintains vital varietal acidity and structure. Rocky loam and limestone soils further ensure authentic expression of the variety and clone. The result is a naturally expressive Pinot Noir that showcases the distinctive qualities of Clone 828, which is known to excel in our estate vineyard. Clone 828 originates from the Dijon region of France and is prized for its deep fruit character and lush texture.
Winemaker Notes
The fruit from Block 10 was night harvested to ensure complete fruit integrity. The grapes were harvested on September 24 after an excellent growing season for Pinot Noir, with consistent weather conditions through harvest. After harvesting, the grapes were destemmed and cold soaked for a gentle extraction of color and flavor. The must was fermented in small stainless steel fermenters and open-top bins with manual punchdowns two times daily—a small-lot winemaking regimen designed to maximize flavor expression. The wine was then aged for 22 months in French oak barrels featuring 25 percent new oak, bringing added texture and dimension to the palate. A total of 20 barrels were selected to create this limited-edition clonal selection.
Food Pairing Notes
The gentle intensity of the 2019 Pinot Noir Clone 828 appeals to herb-crusted beef tenderloin, lamb chops with rosemary, roast turkey and mushroom risotto.

I'm not a huge pinot drinker but I enjoy sipping on this one. Always excited for my shipments because Brick Barn wines are just that good

So I didn't think I liked Pinot Noir, but I LOVE this 828. I enjoyed it so much in our shipment that I drank it all and I went up to the tasting room to buy more. It's that good. What do I like about it? It's yummy. It goes well with everything. It's not too heavy, and not too light.

This is my number one go to wine that I could enjoy any time of the year. I introduced this to my husband and he too is in love with it. Its just an exceptional wine that we love to sip on out back porch bar. Its a wine I will for sure re-visit many times.

LOVE THIS WINE! If you are a fan of Pinot, this is an excellent choice. We enjoy this wine while smoking chicken. The wine is light but filling, full of fruit and cherries and subtle notes of cinnamon but not too sweet. It is unique on its own and a hit for people who enjoy Pinots.

Fantastic Wine - Every time we're in town, we end up purchasing more of this for our son and daughter-in-law, who live up north. It was either purchasing more or having our son drink the ones that are for my husband. Highly recommend this wine!

my favorite pinot from Brick Barn as well as my favorite of their wines - luscious and depth of character while also being smooth and not over-powering - more importantly, consistently good year after year - they got this one right!

This 828 Pinot has more body and flavor than most. In my experience, Pinots are typically rather light. This one is the exception and my favorite. I love sharing it with friends not familiar with Brick Barn quality.

My wife and I love sipping this 828 Pinot at Brick Barn while listening to live music! On our last visit, our guests enjoyed it so much they bought two bottles to take home with them.
