WINEMAKING
The fruit for the 2021 Pinot Noir Reserve was hand-harvested at night and destemmed before undergoing a four-day cold soak for gentle extraction. The various Pinot Noir lots were co-fermented as an estate field blend, then settled in stainless steel tanks. The wine was racked to French oak barrels for 20 months of aging, after which winemaker Adrian Bolshoi selected the best 18 barrels for reserve treatment. These barrels were held for an additional 10 months to further develop integration and complexity. Forty percent of the barrels featured new oak, enhancing the body and depth of the wine. The result is a masterful blend that reflects the potential of the Brick Barn estate.
