Vineyard Notes
The 35-acre Brick Barn estate vineyard lies just north of the Santa Ynez River in a largely unexplored winegrowing corridor near the city of Buellton in the western Santa Ynez Valley. Here, persistent sun exposure ensures ripe flavors, while the Pacific Ocean—just 10 miles away—delivers daily cooling that maintains fruit acidity and structure. Our Albariño is planted to a small 1.9-acre block in front of our winery. This block’s sandy riverbed soils foster pure varietal character, while the marine breezes help maintain fruit vibrancy right through full maturity. Tight 6x3 vine spacing ensures that yields are kept in check for the sake of natural flavor intensity.
Winemaker Notes
The Albariño grapes were harvested at night to retain freshness and fruit integrity. The clusters were destemmed and gently pressed. After cold settling for four days, the juice was racked off the solids and fermented in stainless steel over a period of 14 days. Winemaker Adrian Bolshoi chose the Aroma White yeast to preserve the wine’s pure varietal character and crisp textures. After fermentation, the wine was cold aged at 40 degrees for nine months in stainless steel to ensure the retention of delicate aromatics and bright fruit flavors.
Food Pairing Notes
The fresh, ocean-kissed character of the 2020 Albariño begs for a variety of seafood pairings, including fresh prawns, steamed mussels and cod fillets. Other prime pairings include roast turkey and avocado salad.
Other Notes
The 2020 Albariño is our Santa Ynez Valley rendition of this classic Spanish grape, which thrives amid the pronounced coastal conditions of the Brick Barn estate.

Love the Meyer lemon and tropical fruit flavors, and the excellent acidity both heightens the fruit blast and enables it to pair well with everything from shellfish to pesto. Delicious and versatile!

Love this wine!! Even my husband who mostly drinks red likes it too. It’s crisp with an apple and pineapple on the nose. Fruit forward, but not too fruity. Goes well with shrimp and charcuterie. Great on a hot day!!
